Our Location

Our seaplane base is located in Armstrong Station, Ontario at the north end of Highway 527, 150 miles north of Thunder Bay in Ontario. Thunder Bay is situated on the north shore of Lake Superior. For those driving you can drive directly to our base.

When driving to Armstrong, you “must” use Highway 527 from Thunder Bay to Armstrong. Your vehicle GPS or Google Maps will likely suggest other routes for this portion of your trip. These other suggested routes either do not exist, are abandoned or are unmaintained. Many are forest access roads that were constructed for wood extraction then abandoned after the wood was harvested.

For those preferring to fly with a commercial air carrier; Porter Airlines, Air Canada and West Jet all fly into Thunder Bay.

For the remaining trek from Thunder Bay you can rent a vehicle at the airport.

Armstrong Station also has an airport available to those planning to arrive by private or charter aircraft.

For those flying commercial airlines, arriving on private aircraft or not wanting to pack bulky items, we have a large supply of most commonly needed items such as life jackets, landing nets, coolers of all sizes, freshly laundered sleeping bags, etc. available for your use at no charge.

For those arriving the day or evening before flying in to one of our camps, we have 5 fully modern guest cabins at our seaplane base overlooking Mattice Lake and at McKenzie Lake. Please contact us for rates and availability.

We will also shop for your groceries and refreshments if you desire. There is a 20% service charge for picking up groceries, refreshments and incidentals. If you have special needs, let us know and we can in almost all instances be of assistance.
